Who are we?

Marine Travelift manufactures customized boat handling systems including boat hoists, marine forklifts, and hydraulic transporters. Marine Travelift has been manufacturing mobile boat hoists since 1954 and our equipment is utilized across the globe with over 5,000 units in service to help marinas handle boats of all sizes. Marine Travelift is the parent company to Shuttlelift, an expansive line of industrial cranes used in a variety of lifting applications and industries. These rubber-tired gantry cranes are used across the globe and offer lifting solutions up to 1,000 metric tons and larger.

Marine Travelift is also a sister company to ExacTech, Inc. ExacTech is an indoor metal fabrication shop with a global customer base in large industries including maritime, construction, mining, energy and more. ExacTech is the primary supplier for Marine Travelift and Shuttlelift crane structures, providing steady, in-door work throughout the year.

What are we looking for?

Marine Travelift Inc., in Sturgeon Bay, WI is needing to replace our long-term Director of HR. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Human Resources to lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resource Department. As our Director of HR, you will be responsible for hiring & interviewing, administering pay, benefits, and leave, enforcing policies and practices, and promoting a positive organizational culture.

As our Director of HR, you will…

  • Develop and implement all Human Resource policies
  • Drive recruitment efforts to source, screen, and recommend qualified candidates in support of business needs.
  • Create and maintain a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys
  • Lead and conduct thorough investigations in matters of Harassment, Discrimination, Retaliation, Theft, Wrongful Termination and more
  • Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors to motivate the workforce and build a positive and thriving team environment
  • Mentor and Coach both Managers and Supervisors to improve Human Resource knowledge and skills
  • Develop training materials and performance management programs to help employees understand their job responsibilities
  • Ensure the company’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Oversee LOA, FMLA and ADA
  • Administration of all staff benefits, including annual negotiations, changes, & updates
  • All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned

We are looking for you to have…

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of proven working experience as an HR Manager or related field
  • Experience with HR software and systems
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to identify and maintain confidentiality as applicable
